MARILYN KEMPTER RECOGNIZED AS "VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR" AT INDUSTRY TOWER OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Redmond, Wash., (March 10, 2009) - On February 26th 2009, Marilyn Kempter was awarded the prestigious Tower of Excellence Award for “Volunteer of the Year” at the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) Annual Conference.
Marilyn Kempter, Senior Vice President of ABODA, has long believed it’s important to give back to the industry and community. As Chair of the CHPA Education Committee, Marilyn led her committee to enhance the recertification program as well as developed a Webinar Educational series.
In addition to her commitment to CHPA, she supports several local non-profits that are philosophically aligned with what her industry does- housing people in need. For Washington Multi-Family Housing Association, she has served on the board for four years and has participated in the Communication Committee; sub-committees for the annual conference; and sub-committees to raise money for the Domestic Violence Awareness Women’s Network. For Candlelighters, she has help provide donated housing for families with hospitalized children.
Additionally, Marilyn helps coordinate resources for home rehabs for the Way Back Inn and furniture and housewares donations to the Urban League of Seattle, both of which assist low-income families in transition.
